Marlborough – Edward James Morin, 68, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully at Shrewsbury Crossings (Benchmark) in Shrewsbury, Ma on Wednesday July 31, 2024, surrounded by family and friends fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his siblings, Bob Morin & wife Maureen; Patrica Bortle & husband Steve; Brian Morin & wife Cathy; David Morin & wife Elisa; many nieces & nephews. (close friend) Nancy Sawtelle, Kenny and Sandy Wheeler and their dog Josie (baby girl).
Ed was born in Marlboro, Ma, son of the late Robert F. Morin & Barbara (Oats) Morin. He was raised in Marlboro, attended IC school and graduated from Marlboro High School Class of 1973. He continued his education attending Westfield State University and graduated in 1977.
Ed began his career working for Casual Male for 25 years as a retail analyst setting up new stores all over the country. Ed spent the last 16 years working for the U.S. Postal service in Action, Ma.
Ed’s hobbies were playing the guitar, square dancing, fishing, vacationing in Maine and spending time with family and friends. Ed was a proud fan of the New England Patriots; you could always find him on Sundays watching the game with his friends Kenny and Sandy.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Benchmark Senior Living at Shrewsbury Crossing and Notre Dame Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
His funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5, at 10:00 A.M. in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, August 4, from 2 to 4 P.M.
