Eastham – Thomas Joseph Senior, 76, of Eastham, Massachusetts, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born on November 19, 1947, in Worcester, MA, Tom graduated from Burncoat Sr. High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he dedicated 32 years to serving his community as a Shrewsbury police officer, during which time he graduated from Western New England College with a degree in Criminal Justice. He retired as a Sergeant, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and residents alike.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda (Finizza) Senior; his parents, John and Rita (Pender) Senior; his brothers, Robert, Jack, and Michael; and his sister Frances. He is survived by his daughter, Gina Kelly, and her husband Gary; his son, Shawn Senior, and his wife Kimberly; and four grandchildren who were the light of his life, Patrick and Kylian Kelly and Thomas and Andrew Senior, all of Shrewsbury. He also leaves his brother Joseph Senior of Spencer, his sister Joanne Therrian of Worcester, his niece Karin Daigle of Worcester, and several other nieces and nephews. Tom also leaves behind Linda Daly of Worcester, his dear companion and second love.
Tom cherished spending time outdoors creating beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, fishing, clamming, and golfing. He also enjoyed time at the beach with his family. Tom spent winters in Florida surrounded by close friends. His memory will be lovingly preserved by his family and friends, who were touched by his warmth, dedication, and zest for life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, (www.cancer.org) honoring Tom’s legacy of service and love.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Burial will follow with military honors in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, MA.
