Oct. 3, 1962 ~ Aug. 4, 2024
Marlborough – Michael R. Pierce, 61, of Marlborough died Sunday August 4, 2024, at his home after a year-long battle with cancer.
He was the devoted husband of Jodi (Ercolani) Pierce for the past 43 years, whom he met when he was only 17. They were inseparable from then on, as soulmates usually are, until the very last moments together.
He was born in Munich, Germany and was the son of Elfriede (Angermeier) Pierce of Tampa, Fl and the late Richard R. Pierce. Michael grew up with his two brothers, raised in the Army. He lived all over, eventually moving to Marlborough, MA where the family made their home. He was a loving son and brother. His connection to his birthplace of Germany was a testament to his roots and his love for his heritage, where his mother was raised and whom he adored beyond measure.
Mike was a proud father and dedicated grandfather, leaving behind his two daughters, Heather Pierce and her significant other Keith Taylor of Nashua, NH and Michelle Santiago and her husband Christopher of Templeton. His five grandchildren, Vincent, Alexis, Madelyn, Kane, and Camille. He additionally leaves behind his brother Robert Pierce and his wife Donna of Marlborough; two nieces Sarah and Caileigh and his nephew Ben. He was predeceased by his brother Eric Pierce of Marlborough.
He was a graduate of Marlborough High School, Class of 1981. Mike was a United States Army veteran having served his country from 1981-1985. He was a truck driver for both Lamson and Koopman Lumber as a dedicated employee for many years and was well known in the construction community. He was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose where he reached Fellowship Status and a life member of the Amvets Post 208.
Mike served his country with honor and dedication as a member of the U.S. Army. His commitment to service was evident not only in his military career but also in his personal life. Mike was a gifted cook with a special fondness for barbecue, a talent he generously shared by cooking for large gatherings at family events, for the VFW and Moose Lodges.
Mike’s passion for cooking, fishing and spending time with his family reflected his deep love for life and for those he held dear. His devotion to his grandchildren was a source of boundless joy, and beautiful to see.
As a vacation enthusiast, he found happiness traveling with his wife and dear friends. Whether they were on a Cruise or in Punta Cana, traveling in the company of close friends brought him great joy and memories.
Those that knew him felt blessed to be a part of his life as he would light up any room with his outgoing personality and that unforgettable radiant smile. To know him meant to love him. Mike’s passing leaves a significant void in the lives of his family and friends, but the countless memories and good times shared with him will provide comfort during these difficult times. He is now at rest with God, and we are confident that he will continue to watch over us until we meet again.
May you Rest in Peace, knowing that you are forever cherished and that your memory will live on in the many hearts you have touched.
We Love you: Mike, Dad, Papa, Uncle Mike, and as many knew of him,” Dude”.
Till we meet again in Heaven
