Westborough – Anita Phillips, 96, of Westborough, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at her home. Mrs. Phillips was the beloved wife of the late Robert Phillips, who passed away in 2004.

Born and raised in Marlborough, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Virgil and Nancy (Santospirito) Soldani. Educated in Marlborough, Mrs. Phillips attended the Immaculate Conception School and St. Ann’s Academy.

Anita was a devoted mother of four, homemaker and wife.  Before her retirement, Mrs. Phillips was employed as a trainer for Austin Industries and an assembler at RCA Computer Division, previously of Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Phillips was a one-time communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough and a former member of the Longfellow Poetry Society in Sudbury.

A talented poet, artist and writer of children’s stories, Anita dabbled very adroitly in a range of arts and crafts, including her celebrated cooking and home decorating.  She loved music, movies, dancing and reading. But above all, Anita loved her family. She adored her many grandchildren and focused on them dotingly.

She is survived by her children, Martha Deckel and her husband Dr. A. Wallace of Millbury, Mark Phillips of Whitinsville, Cecilia Phillips and her husband James Kelly of North Grafton, and Nancy Smith of North Grafton; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Rosalind, Jessica, Tyler, Matthew, Alan, and Raymond, six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Collin, Charlotte, Robbie, Brady and Gemma, and one on the way.

Anita is predeceased by her siblings James and Ambrose Soldani, and her sisters Cecilia Mainville, Louise Soldani and Anna Cara.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 10 at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main Street, Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10:30 A.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough, prior to the funeral Mass.
