April 16, 1973 – Aug. 23, 2024
Shrewsbury – Kimberly (Berghaus) Dullea, age 51, went to dance with abandon in the streets of heaven on August 23, 2024.
Kim grew up in Brookline, MA, where she met her life-long best friends. She graduated from Boston College in 1995 and later earned her master’s from Suffolk University. Through hard work and dedication, Kim built a successful career at State Street Bank as a Human Resources partner and global leader and was excited to start a new role with Pegasystems. She was proud of her accomplishments and touched more lives than we will ever know through her many acts of kindness and generosity. Kim cared deeply about the people around her, so that work was never just work. She led by heart.
But Kim’s greatest happiness was the life she created with her beloved husband, Matt. After first meeting at Boston College, they met up again in 2005 and married two years later. They were blessed with three beautiful boys, Jayden, Jesse, and Kason, who Kim adored beyond words. She loved being their mom and showing up in all the small ways that matter, whether it was cheering (the loudest) from the sidelines, taking them on special dates, or hosting cousin sleepovers. Kim and Matt were truly a team, equally devoted to their family and each other. On the night before Kim passed, she told Matt that her life was perfect and she wouldn’t change a single thing about their life together. She had everything she ever wanted.
Kim lit up any room she walked into with her bright eyes and effervescent personality. She exuded warmth and often fell in love with people upon meeting them. She had a passion for bringing neighbors, friends, and family together to create joyful memories and fun, new traditions. Whether dressing up as Mrs. Claus and passing out cookies to the neighborhood kids or breaking out her signature dance moves, she loved to make others smile and laugh. But it was Kim who had the most boisterous and unmistakable laugh of all.
Kim’s life was rooted in gratitude for all that she had. She practiced forgiveness in relationships and valued family above all else. She never lost sight of where she came from or what mattered most to her. Kim was an optimist who believed in doing what you can, every day, to affect positive change in your life. And letting the rest go.
In addition to her most beloveds, her husband and children, Kim is survived by her sister Robin (Bryan) Berghaus; her aunt, Harriett Land; her cousins, Greg Chico, Matthew Chico, Tita Chico, Kerri Land, and Michael Land; her mother-in-law, Lainy Dullea, and father-in-law, Maurice (Debbie) Dullea; her siblings-by-marriage, Mike, Sara, Erin, Joe, Bridget, Molly, and Leah; her 10 precious nieces and nephews; and other relatives she carried in her heart. Kim was preceded in death by her father, Theodore F. Berghaus; her mother, Barbara (Callan) Berghaus; her cousin, Christopher Chico; and other family members awaiting her in heaven.
To our dear Kim, we will see you in Delaware sunsets and morning coffee; on crisp fall days and cozy evenings curled up with a good book; In the eyes of your boys and the heart of Matt. You will be missed terribly.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for Kim’s three boys: Everloved – Give
