Athol – Carlos Alberto Seco went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday September 2, 2024 at the age of 67.

He was born on March 4, 1957 on the island of Santa Maria, The Azores, Portugal to Manuel and Maria (de Bairos) Seco. He immigrated to the United States with his family in 1972 and settled in Hudson, Massachusetts. He briefly attended Hudson High School and worked various jobs as a maintenance mechanic throughout the area. In 1975, Carlos met his beloved wife Linda Chaves whom he married in Hudson only 3 months later on April 18th,1975. They were inseparable for 49 years.

Nothing meant more to Carlos than his wife, children and grandsons. Throughout the years, Carlos was usually found in the kitchen cooking a delicious meal for his loved ones. He had a natural talent for fixing things whether it be cars, appliances or his grandchildren’s broken toys. He enjoyed listening to his Portuguese folklore music and fados. Carlos’ favorite pastime was taking long, leisurely rides with his wife Linda.

Carlos also enjoyed watching all the New England sports teams. He will always be remembered as a joker and a prankster who brought joy and laughter to all those he loved. Carlos meant the world to his grandchildren who he helped lovingly raise and who were always with their precious “Vavo”. He left a legacy of love, laughter, joy and sacrifice which has shaped the lives of all who knew him.

Carlos is survived by his wife Linda Seco, his son Paul C. Seco and wife Deborah of Richmond, N.H., his daughter Carla L. Seco and her husband Jeff LeBlanc of Athol, Massachusetts, his beloved grandsons Dominic J. Maillet and wife Rachel of Gardner, Massachusetts, Brandon S. Maillet and Mason S. LeBlanc, both of Athol, Massachusetts. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Carlos is survived by his brothers Elias Seco and wife Lee of South Royalston, Massachusetts, Ernesto Seco and wife Ana of Warwick, R.I., Luis Seco and wife Elisa of East Providence, R.I., Augusto and wife Donna of Conway, S.C., and Emanuel and his partner Goretti of Framingham, Massachusetts. He also leaves his sister Ana Seco Correia and her husband Afonso of Providence, R.I. as well countless nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Maria and his brothers Daniel and Jose Seco.Carlos was a Christian and is rejoicing in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in glory. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private service will be held for family and close friends.
