Anna L. PereiraShrewsbury – Anna Louise (DeYeso) Pereira, 91, formerly of Mashpee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2024 in Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Anna will forever be remembered for her joie de vivre, sense of humor, and her strong faith. She brought her spirit of fun and laughter into all who knew and loved her.

Anna was born in Everett, MA, daughter of the late Louis and Carmella (Morello) DeYeso. She loved to share fond memories of her early life with her parents and eight siblings.

Anna is survived by her loving husband of 70 years Andrew J. Pereira; her two daughters – Andrea (Paul Dobner), and Lisa (Jorge Wookee, deceased); her three sons – Donald (Lyn Berquist), Andrew Jr, and Mark (Anita Sukur); her eight grandchildren – Julia (Christian Haase), Sofia (Derek Mullaney), Esteban, Lee, Grace, Rose, Leo, and Stefan; her loving sisters Bernadette Bono (Leonard), Mary Sartori (Francis), and Sena (Honey) Duff (Paul, deceased) and many nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her two sisters Lorraine (Dolly) Maggio (Mike, deceased) and Domenica (Minnie) Lombardo (Rocco, deceased), and her three brothers John (Carmella, deceased), Alphonse, and Pasquale.

Anna took great delight in caring for her children. Shortly after her youngest child entered school, she continued her education to further her career at the Winchester Hospital. Anna was a devout Catholic. She was a fabulous cook and it was once said that the aroma in her kitchen made one feel as though they were entering through The Gates of Heaven. She took pleasure in reading good books, gardening, taking long walks, playing Mah-jongg, knitting and especially spending time with her family and friends. Later in life, she lived on Cape Cod for 30 years while wintering in Florida with her husband Andrew. In Florida, she also had many dear friends and loved playing Bocce, organizing Mah-jongg games and other social events for her community in Port Charlotte, FL.

We will miss our mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She will now enter into eternity without pain to share in the glory of her Lord.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s memory may be made to her favorite charity, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).
