Shrewsbury – Jeanne Elworthy Siemasko of Southgate Community in Shrewsbury passed away peacefully on October 3 surrounded by her beloved family after a brief illness. Born in Boston, the daughter of Franklin and Nora (Quinn) Davis, Jeanne was raised in Roslindale and graduated from Roslindale High School.

Jeanne married Ernest “Stretch” Elworthy in 1949. The two began their married life together in Boston before moving to Shrewsbury to raise their five sons and two daughters. Jeanne and Stretch enjoyed entertaining family and friends over holidays and summers at their home on Topsfield Circle. Jeanne was an active mom; serving as cub scout den mother and a CCD teacher. She was a talented seamstress and crafter who enjoyed hand making special clothes and costumes for her kids. After losing her husband of 28 years early in life, Jeanne balanced her work in sales and homemaking as a single mother to her young children.

Jeanne found love again with Edward “Red” Siemasko and they married in 1985. Jeanne and Red loved hosting their blended family of children and grandchildren for holidays at their home in Worcester and summers in Sandwich and winters in Port Charlotte, FL over the 28 years they spent together. Jeanne enjoyed golfing, the beach and belonging to various clubs and groups in the communities that she was a part of. Jeanne was witty and an easy conversationalist.

Wherever she went, she made connections and friends, many of which she maintained over the course of her life. She stayed current with the times, always keeping a close eye on the news, weather, and Boston Sports. Jeanne enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader through her final days- she never stopped wanting to expand her world. Jeanne was the matriarch of a large family, which grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had enough love to go around and had the gift of making everyone feel special. She treasured her individual time with her children and was happiest when she was surrounded by her big family. She was faithful, strong, resilient, beautiful, funny, and fun and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Jeanne leaves behind her 6 children: David Elworthy (Susan), Alan Elworthy (Rosanne), Debora Dolan (Michael), Diane Demoga, Mark Elworthy (Kim), Kenneth Elworthy (Heidi), stepchildren Patricia Shearing, Robert Siemasko (Josie) and Richard Siemasko (Adriana), 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Jeanne was devoted to her faith in God and we take comfort in knowing she was welcomed in heaven by her first husband Ernest Elworthy, son Francis Xavier Elworthy, second husband Edward Siemasko, parents Franklin and Nora Davis, brothers Kit, Arthur and Donald Davis, son-in law John Demoga, step son Edward Siemaszko and grandson Robert Siemasko.

The family wishes to thank the Critical Care Unit at UMASS Memorial for their care and compassion of both Jeanne and her family in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 9:00-10:30 AM at Britton-Shrewsbury followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St, Shrewsbury, MA.
