Earlier this week, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a geomagnetic storm watch for yesterday and today after a fast coronal mass ejection (CME) erupted from the sun on Oct. 8. The CME was expected to arrive at Earth yesterday.
As a result, NOAA said aurora could be visible over much of the northern United States.
