Lions Club collects donations for Helene victims
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the front of the Southborough Senior Center became a dropoff for donations to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene. By day’s end, there were enough donations to fill a big truck. (Photo/Maureen Sullivan)

MARLBOROUGH – Massachusetts Lions are joining forces to support those hardest hit by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.

Lions across the state are collecting donations of goods and financial resources; members will be driving a truck down to North Carolina on Oct. 10 and Oct. 17 with the items collected.

If anyone wants to donate items from the list below, please call 774-369-0088 to coordinate dropoff or pickup. Please do not donate water. Water is the biggest need, but the Lions will be buying water with the money people donate so we can load the truck with full pallets.

You can also make purchases from an Amazon wish list. Select wishlist coordinator Kristine Shanahan as the delivery address at checkout:

Please consider making a monetary donation so the Lions can buy items in bulk from large retailers. Here is the link for donations:

Another big need not listed on the list below is Benedryl. The yellow jackets have been disturbed and people are getting stung continuously.
