WESTBOROUGH – Members of the Westborough Fire Department were battling “multiple” brush fires on the Massachusetts Turnpike on Oct. 27 at around 6:30 p.m.
In a post on social media, the department reported that the fires were between milemarkers 100 and 106.
“Exercise caution traveling through the area,” the department wrote.
The National Weather Service Boston office is reporting elevated fire danger across Massachusetts due to dry weather conditions. Since Oct. 11, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has declared a mild drought in several sections of the state, including Central Mass.
