Scouting for Food in Southborough

On Saturday, Nov. 2, local Scouts will hang bags with fliers on residents’ doors. Fill the bag with nonperishable items, then leave donations next to your mailbox on Saturday, Nov. 9. Scouts will pick them up for delivery to the Food Pantry.

No expired or damaged items, please.

Textile Recycling Event

Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to noon, First Congregational Church (back of the parking lot), 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury. Accepted items (must be clean and dry) – stuffed animals, clothing (may be torn, worn or stained), shoes, towels, blankets, bedding, pillows, hats, belts, scarves, mittens, ties, undergarments, purses, wallets, bags, fanny packs, curtains and tablecloths. Please put all items in a large trashbag. Proceeds from weight collected will benefit the high school youth group mission trip.

Harvest Fair

Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., St. James Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton. Sponsored by Our Lady of Hope Parish. The event will include homemade crafts; plants, a Silent Auction; themed baskets; a money raffle; a Kids Zone with free tattoos; games with prizes; a raffle with a large smart TV, sled and Adirondack chair; a White Elephant table; a jewelry table; and bake table. The kitchen will serve breakfast pastries from 9 to 11 a.m.; and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Harvest Fair in Shrewsbury

Saturday, Nov. 2, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., First Congregational Church, 19 Church Road. Join us for crafts, jewelry, holiday shop, silent auction, cookie walk, jams and candies and our famous flea market. Support the Girl Scouts with coffee, goodies and lunch and the Scouting America troops at their bake sale.

Harvest Home Festival and 5K

Sunday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Community Harvest Project, 37 Wheeler Road, North Grafton. Join Community Harvest Project to celebrate the end of another successful season providing more than 250,000 pounds of healthy produce for hunger relief. The annual event features kids activities with a bouncy house, giant leaf pile, an online auction, food and drink, live music, pumpkin trebuchets, apple cannons, hayrides for all ages, animal meet & greet, and more. Admission is $10 ($40 family cap). Kids under 5 are free. All 5K runners receive free admission to the festival. Cash, credit, debit, or Venmo accepted.
