Shrewsbury – Ronald “Ron” Korzon of Shrewsbury, Ma, age 70, passed away at home on October 31, 2024, after a period of declining health, with his loving wife and cherished son by his side.
Ron was born in Greenfield, Ma to Walter and Anne (Majewski) Korzon on April 13, 1954. He attended schools in Greenfield where he acquired his love for learning.
Ron’s professional career spans over twenty plus years, starting with working as a mini-computer operations specialist at Bird and Son’s Co. in Walpole, Ma. And ending retired as a Senior Technology Consultant from Digital Equipment Corp./ Compaq. Ron played a pivotal role in the exciting transformation of computer technological advancements during his time of employment. He was very proud to have worked for “Digital”.
Aside from his professional career, Ron was deeply committed to family life. Through Ron’s mentorship his children, Alex and Annemarie spent most weekends either playing or refereeing games of soccer and/ or volleyball where fairness and joy were brought to the soccer and volleyball games, they oversaw.
Finally on a personal note Ron achieved two milestones: one being earning a private pilot’s license and the other completing requirements to be certified as an airframe and powerplant mechanic.
Ron loved nothing better than to do a pre-flight inspection of his red Cessna 150 and practice touch and goes at Orange Airport under the watchful eye of his flight instructor.
Ron is survived by his wife Rita of forty-seven years, his son Alex, his daughter Annemarie (Jeremy) Leach and four wonderful grandchildren.
A private burial service will be held to honor Ron’s life marked by his dedication to family, career and his avocations.
