Kathleen A. GaliboisDuxbury – Kathleen Ann (Kathy) Galibois, 77, of Duxbury, MA, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024.

Kathy was born on January 14, 1947 to Rita and Frederick Sugden of Hudson, MA. She attended Hudson High School where she was a baton twirler and the captain of the majorettes. After graduating in 1965, Kathy earned her Associate’s Degree from Chandler School for Women in Boston.

As a young woman, she worked as a secretary for the ITEK Corporation, working on government contracts requiring the highest level of security clearance.

She met her future husband, Robert (Bob) at a mixer in 1965 while he was a student at Boston College. Their early dates included sporting events of all varieties, dances, and walks around the Chestnut Hill reservoir.

Following Bob receiving his Master’s Degree from Northeastern University, they married in 1968 in Hudson, MA. After Bob returned from military service, they lived in Millis, MA from 1973 – 1984 before settling in Duxbury with their two sons, Robert (Rob) and Michael.

Kathy poured her heart and whole self into being a proud homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and loyal friend. Her greatest joys in life were her husband, her children and grandchildren, and her faith community. When not enjoying time with her family, Kathy could often be found going for walks on Duxbury beach. She always wore a smile, was an entertaining storyteller, and had a quick, infectious laugh.

A woman of deep faith and with a giving heart, Kathy was actively involved in a variety of ministries at Holy Family Church, serving as an extraordinary eucharistic minister serving the homebound in nursing homes, a Stephen minister, and a volunteer at the Pine Street Inn. Later in life, Kathy looked forward each year to taking on the role of Mrs. Claus for the children’s holiday festivities at a local preschool. To all who knew her, Kathy was generous, humble, and kind.

Kathy is survived by Bob Galibois of Duxbury, MA, her husband of 56 years and the love of her life, her son Rob Galibois of Barnstable, MA, his wife Nikki, and their sons Maxwell and Cameron, and her son Michael Galibois of Chicago, IL, his wife Amy, and their daughters Bridget and Leah. Kathy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Rita and Fred Sugden, and her sister, Deborah McCarthy.

Visitation will be held at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury on November 26th at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. All are welcome to a reception at the American Legion, 5 West Street, Duxbury following the funeral Mass.
