April 22, 1959 ~ Nov. 6, 2024
Marlborough – Patricia “Patty” J. McGuire, 65, of Marlborough passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a difficult battle with cancer.
Patty was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Robert “Bob” W. O’Connor Jr. and Lucy (Scontsas) O’Connor.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bruce R. McGuire of Marlborough, her son Michael McGuire and his wife Wenjing Li of Cambridge, her daughter Molly McGuire and her partner Kevin Crossman of Boylston, her grandson Owen, and a brother Robert O’Connor III of Hyannis.
She graduated from Marlborough High School in 1977 and was involved in every club or committee you could imagine and served as her Class Treasurer.
She was an active and engaged parent, and spent time volunteering for the Marlborough All Sports Booster club, even after her own kids graduated. She was a familiar face on Friday nights at Kelleher Field raising money for the 50/50 raffle.
Patty worked as a Bartender for Whites Corner in Southborough for 14 years. She was a para educator in the Marlborough Public Schools for over 20 years before retiring in 2024. She was so proud to be a teacher, a mentor, and a caretaker for the many kids she worked with over the years.
She was the type of person who went out of her way to make others happy – and found unique ways to make people smile. She loved to bake and had a reputation for her delicious whoopie pie desserts. She will be missed by everybody who knew her.
Following Cremation Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 4-7 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA. The burial will be private.
