Mark D. BakerMelbourne, FL – Mark Dearborn Baker was born December 8, 1954. His journey through life ended peacefully on November 9, 2024 with the assistance of Health First Hospice. His spirit left this worldly place knowing his immediate adoring family was always by his side.

He leaves behind the love of his life – Lynne whom he married at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury MA in 1981 and his most valued treasured possessions – his two young men Eric and Alec of whom he was so very proud and devoted to. Mark found the loving daughter he always wanted in a very special family friend – Daniela (Dani) Hornstein.

Mark was born in Newark NJ.  He spent his early years until mid-teens in Livingston NJ. His parents then moved the family several times to Highland Park Ill, Rochester NY before ending up in Westboro MA.

Mark graduated from Westboro HS and later graduated from Northeastern University in Boston MA in 1983. At the time, he was a lead management information analyst working for a notable insurance company in Boston MA. From the mid 1980s until 2017 his final primary career was in banking with several well known institutions. Mark did many different jobs with the banking profession. He was a certified cash management officer, stock broker, insurance/annuity salesperson, mortgage broker, loan officer and assistant or branch bank manager just to name a few titles.

Mark and Lynne moved from the New England area to FL in 1986. They settled in Melbourne FL in 2001 to be closer to Lynne’s elderly parents for well checks and care if necessary.

Mark was a private guy and he loved being with his family. Whether it was enjoying weekends with close friends or a  Friday night pizza, beer, and a movie – he was always happiest with just hanging out at home. In his earlier years, it was not unusual to see him sipping on a glass of Gentlemen Jack or a frosty bottle of Heineken. His love for music including Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Disturbed or Joan Jett just to name a few. He was one who always took the opportunity  to go to live concerts anywhere. He was an awesome handyman and could fix almost everything. He loved the beach and so not to be bored he took up surf fishing-often times fishing with his father in law. He was a national hot rod association enthusiast going to Gainesville Raceway whenever time allowed.
