WESTBOROUGH — Westborough’s playoff run has come to an end.
On Nov. 15, the No. 12 Rangers fell 42-7 to fourth-ranked North Attleboro in the MIAA Division 3 quarterfinals. The loss ended an impressive stretch for Westborough; after a close loss to open the season, the Rangers won eight straight — including an upset over No. 5 West Springfield in the opening round of the playoffs — and became back-to-back league champions.
“I’m super, super proud of this team. They’re great kids. They’ve come a long way, and I know it stings right now, but at the end of the day, they should be proud of their accomplishments, proud of the work they put in, and proud of what they’ve done. We’re proud of them as coaches, and everybody rallied behind the program,” said Joe Beveridge.
Westborough will play Algonquin on Thanksgiving.
