WESTBOROUGH – The Westborough Police and Fire departments had a very busy Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Fire Department’s Facebook page, personnel responded to a report of a lithium-ion battery that exploded at a commercial building on Friberg Parkway.
Westborough Fire also responded to a pair of auto accidents — one on Route 495 that resulted in injuries, and another at the intersection of Milk, Church and Fisher streets involving two motor vehicles. There were no injuries.
Westborough Police and Fire responded to the Willows on Lyman Street for a report of an unresponsive person. A 101-year-old woman had passed away. According to Deputy Police Chief Steve Tompkins, the case remains open, but does not appear to be suspicious.
Westborough Fire received mutual aid from other communities.
