Hudson – Judith L. (Hammond) Brown, 79, of Hudson, MA, formerly of Marlborough and Framingham, MA, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024. She was the beloved wife of 40 years, to the late Richard J. Brown who died in November 2023.

Judy was born in Harrlington, TX; daughter of the late Sumner and Alice (Stone) Hammond. She was raised and attended local schools in Waltham, MA and was a graduate of Waltham High School, class of 1963. She attended and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.

Judy spent a short time teaching in Hudson, MA Elementary Public Schools prior to taking a position at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. She proudly served as the History Department Administrator at Brandeis for more than 35 years until retiring in 2014. After residing in Framingham for almost 30 years, she spent 5 years in Marlborough before moving to Hudson, where she lived for the past three years. She was a former member of Weston Methodist Church, and currently a member of Westborough Methodist Church.

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Heather Lussier and her husband David of Aberdeen, NC, and Kristen Hawkins and her husband Chad of Shrewsbury, MA.

She also leaves her three grandchildren, Simon Lussier, Clara Lussier, Calvin Hawkins; her 3 brothers, John Hammond and his wife Elizabeth “Betty” of Kennebunk, ME, Russell Hammond and his wife Janice of Weston, MA, Philip Hammond and his wife Lynne of Natick, MA; along with her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Being among family, friends, and spending time in Kennebunkport, ME were always special to Judy. Both Judy and Richard took pride in the beautiful gardens at the family home in Framingham. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She loved to entertain family and friends and Judy was always there to prepare special dishes for all to enjoy. Most recently she cherished her time at the Esplanade Community and the Hudson Senior Center. Making friends, playing “Nickels” and, of course, Bingo at the center was always fun. She had a competitive streak that was easily obscured by her beautiful smile and mischievous laugh. Judy will be truly missed but not forgotten by all who loved and knew her.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A memorial service and celebration of Judy’s life will follow at 12:00pm in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Judy may be made to: Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW, Lilburn, GA 39946 or lbda.org.
