Southborough – Connor Costello, age 30, of Southborough, MA, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2024.
Born and raised in Southborough, Connor developed a deep passion for sports, with basketball holding a special place in his heart. After graduating from high school, he pursued his love for the game at Hobart College and then Salve Regina College, later traveling to Europe to play professional basketball. He would frequently travel back and forth between Europe and the U.S. to train and compete.
In 2019, he met the love of his life, Mathilde, and they got married in 2020. In addition to basketball, Connor had a love for both cooking and nutrition. He was an excellent cook and helped friends and family have healthier diets and lifestyles. He also enjoyed writing music and lyrics, showcasing his creativity.
Connor will be remembered for his unwavering compassion, willingness to always help a friend in need, and his amazing sense of humor. He was the loving brother of Ryan Costello; and the devoted husband of Mathilde Auger Costello. He is also survived by his parents, Kim and Rob Costello; his grandmothers, Nena Hicks and Roberta Costello; his grandparents, Curt and Pat van Vloten; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Beyond his family, Connor leaves a loving group of friends with whom he spent some of his happiest days, whose lives he improved immeasurably, and who will always think of him as a brother. They will honor Connor’s memory by continuing his legacy of joy, a fierce sense of loyalty, and an insatiable pursuit of their dreams.
We will forever cherish the joy and laughter Connor brought to our lives. He had a warm and infectious laugh that had a way of filling the room.
A Celebration of Connor’s Life will be held at the family home for close friends and family in the weeks ahead.
