Shrewsbury – Susan Brote-Guinto, 57, a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at home after being stricken ill. Susan is welcomed into heaven into the arms of her son, Matthew Brote who passed away in 2014 and her father, Raymond R. Brote, who passed away in 2015.
Susan was born in Worcester, February 7, 1967, the daughter of Joanne (Hull) Brote and the late Raymond Brote. Raised in Shrewsbury, She graduated from Shrewsbury High School. She was also involved in Shrewsbury Youth Hockey for many years. Where she notably was the first woman on the Boys Hockey squad. She then worked for several companies before retiring from the former Sophies Restaurant in Boylston.
Susan is survived by two daughters, Gianna and Arianna Guinto; her mother Joanne Brote; a brother David M. Brote; two nephews, D.J. and Blake, and a niece, Tiana all of Shrewsbury; Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Susan was a kindhearted woman, with a bright smile, caring attitude, who was devoted to her daughters and family. She loved to cook, garden, decorate for the holidays, spend time with her cousins next door and travel on family vacations to Florida or Newport. She will be sorely missed.
A period of calling hours will be held Saturday, November 30th from 11 am to 1 pm followed by a prayer service in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton will be private.
