NORTHBOROUGH — The Police Department has received a number of reports on Friday, Nov. 29, that residents are receiving phone calls from someone pretending to be from the Northborough Police Department.
This person is identifying themselves as a sergeant from the department, demanding payment for missed court dates, important documents, subpoenas, etc.
THIS CALL IS A SCAM. The department will never call you requesting payment.
This person/persons are spoofing the department’s phone number, so the call appears on your caller ID as 508-393-1515.
Again, this is an attempt to scam payments from you – just hang up and do not provide any information.
