Grafton – Ann G. (Gummere) Cranshaw, 78, passed away after a brief illness November 30, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard “Rick” Cranshaw, her daughter Kathryn Mogan and her husband Jeffrey and their children Avery and Cameron, her sister Rebecca Hall and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Christina Laurie.

Ann was born in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Elizabeth (Wood) and James Gummere. Her roots were in Grafton where she lived most of her life. Ann lived vibrantly; she loved tennis, golf, and swimming and when she was closer to home tending to her gardens so she could share in the fruits of her labor with family and friends. You also would have found her on the shores of Cape Cod and Maine coast during the summer or taking trips with Rick to visit family and friends.

Ann had a love of children which led her to a long career as an educator. She taught Physical Education in the Wellesley public schools for more than 20 year and loved to teach swimming to local children as well. She was also a devoted member of the Grafton Congregational Church where she served as a Deacon, sang in the church choir and supported the church in community events.

All are welcome to gather with Ann’s family and friends Monday December 9th at 1pm at the Congregational Church of Grafton on Grafton Common. There are no calling hours and burial will be private at her family’s convenience.
