Dec. 4, 1938 ~ Nov. 30, 2024
Marlborough – Elaine F. (Granger) McLellan, 85, of Marlborough, died peacefully Saturday November 30, 2024 at Coleman House in Northboro after a brief period of declining health. Her husband of 65 years, Charles P. McLellan died December 31, 2023.
She was born, raised and educated in Marlborough and was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Louise (Doyle) Granger. Despite facing the loss of her father when she was just eleven, Elaine held onto the fond memories of trips they would take with her friends. Those moments shaped her, and she carried them with her throughout her life.
She was a graduate of Marlborough High School Class of 1956. As a young woman, Elaine enjoyed roller skating and dancing. She often fondly reminisced with her family about those days. Music was another great love of hers, and she especially enjoyed listening and humming along with Christmas songs. Any occasion that brought her family and friends together was always special to Elaine, as she loved to gather with the people who meant the most to her.
Elaine’s life was rich with love, joy, and meaningful connections. She was a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Red Hat Society, where she formed lasting friendships. She met her husband, Charlie, while working for the local dentist, Dr. Cleary, and their love story continued to flourish as they raised their three children together.
Elaine also cherished her neighborhood and the wonderful friends she made there. The families living on James Ave., White Terrace and adjoining streets created a sense of community together that remained very dear to her and her family.
Throughout her life, Elaine had a strong passion for fashion. After raising her children, she worked for several clothing retailers in the Metrowest area, a job she truly loved. Her keen eye for style was evident in the way she dressed, and her sense of fashion became a defining part of her identity.
Elaine found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as walking, listening to music, dancing, spending time at the beach and dining out with her family and friends. Her love for the outdoors grew through her experiences with Charlie, who introduced her to camping, ice skating and water skiing on Fort Meadow Reservoir. Their travels together across the United States, Canada and Europe, provided them with countless cherished memories.
Elaine’s love for her family, her adventures with Charlie, and her cherished memories with dear neighbors, friends and extended family all painted a picture of a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter and lasting connections.
She leaves her daughter Lynn A. Misiuk and her husband Francis of Petersham, two sons, Michael C. McLellan and his wife Sally of Leominster and Christopher J. McLellan and his wife Tara of Hudson; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Benjamin Misiuk; a great granddaughter, Olivia Misiuk; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
