Scott R. WagnerShrewsbury/Boylston – Scott Ralph Wagner, 60, a devoted son, cherished brother, and beloved uncle, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at home on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Raised in Boylston, Scott was the son of Ronald W. and Marsha K. (White) Wagner. For the past eight years, he has made his home in Shrewsbury. He was a lifelong member of First Congregational Church of Boylston.

Scott graduated from Worcester Academy in 1983 and pursued a business degree from Northeastern University in Boston. He dedicated much of his career to his family’s business, Wagner Motors in Boylston and Shrewsbury, where he served as a trusted assistant controller. Later, Scott discovered a passion for real estate, where his keen eye and talent for renovating homes led to many successful projects.

An enthusiast of antique cars, Scott found joy in collecting and restoring them, but his deepest passion was for animals. A true advocate for creatures great and small, Scott was known for his boundless compassion and unwavering dedication to animal welfare. Many birds, small creatures, cats, and dogs owe their safety to Scott’s late-night rescues. He generously supported shelters and pet rescues nationwide and was a steadfast friend to the Worcester Animal Rescue League. Scott frequently fostered sick cats and was a wealth of knowledge on how to care for injured or ailing animals.

Scott will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, his natural comedic wit, kind heart, and deeply compassionate nature. His ability to bring humor and warmth to any room made him unforgettable.

In addition to his parents, Scott leaves behind his brother, Mark Wagner, and his wife Karyn of Boylston; his sister, Lori Rist of West Boylston; two nieces, Casey Wagner and Kendall Rist; and a nephew, Benjamin Wagner. His close-knit family will hold onto the countless memories of shared laughter and time spent together.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Scott’s family from 2 to 4 pm on Monday, December 16 at the First Congregational Church of Boylston, 10 Church St., Boylston, followed by a memorial service honoring Scott’s life at 4 pm. Scott will be laid to rest privately at Pine Grove Cemetery in Boylston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Scott’s name to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester, or Raptor Tales Rescue at www.raptortalesrescue.com.

Scott’s family has entrusted the staff at Miles Funeral Home in Holden with their assistance and care during this difficult time.
