Northborough – Mary Joanne Laswell, of Northborough, passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 1, 2024 with family at her side, she was 83 years old.
Mary Joanne is survived by her beloved daughters Cheryl Stunkel and her husband Glenn of Tuscarora, MD, Linda Geoffrion and her husband Gary of Northborough, her beloved son, Peter Magliarditi and his wife Catherine of Waltham; her cherished grandchildren Matthew and Thomas Geoffrion and Emma and Paul Magliarditi. She also leaves her dear brother William D. Laswell and his wife Donna of Waltham, along with several nephews, cousins and her special friend, who was like a daughter, Debbie Wood and her husband Tom of North Andover.
The daughter of the late William H. and Lillian F. (Mahoney) Laswell, she was born, raised, and educated in Waltham, graduating from Saint Mary High School. Mary Joanne raised her children in Waltham before moving to the Brant Rock neighborhood of Marshfield in 1987 residing there until she moved to Northborough in 2015 to be closer to her daughter.
An executive assistant and receptionist, she worked for technology and insurance companies prior to her retirement.
Mary Joanne was an avid gardener and spent hours in her garden, everyone who walked by would stop to admire it. She was so proud of and loved her grandchildren and her favorite time was when her grandson would spend summers with her in Marshfield. She was gracious and generous to everyone she ever met.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of her life on Sunday, December 8th at 2PM in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 12 noon to 2PM.
