Westborough – Winifred A. (Clark) Sears, age 95, died Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a period of declining health.

She leaves two sons, Mark R. Sears, and Michael T. Sears and his wife Debra, of Northbridge; two daughters, Pamel J. Higgins and her husband Kevin, of Dover-Foxcroft, and Christine E. Gervais and her husband Steven, of Douglas; five grandchildren: Jeffrey and Scott Gervais; Angela Howard; Emily and Joyce Stubbs; and 7 great grandchildren. Winnie was predeceased by her husband Richard T. Sears in 1990 and by her four siblings.

A daughter of David M. and Olive (Stearns) Clark, Mrs. Sears was born May 18, 1929, in Worcester where she grew up and graduated from North High in 1946 and Westbrook Junior College in 1950.

After graduating from college, she and Richard married and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where they lived from until 1955, when they moved to Shrewsbury. They moved to Whitinsville in 1970, where she remained until moving to the Willows in Westborough six years ago. After raising her family, she worked as an administrative assistant at New England Power, in Westborough, before retiring.

Winnie loved music and singing. She sang in the choir at the Village Congregational Church in Whitinsville, where she was a member for nearly 50 years. She was a member of the Westborough Chorus and attended the Westborough Congregational Church as well.

She spent many years tending to her flower gardens at the family home in Northbridge, where she enjoyed feeding the ducks at the pond on their property. She loved going on adventures with her grandchildren, skiing in Waterville Valley, or traveling to the Carolinas. She was much loved and well known by many in the community and will be remembered for her bubbly and happy personality.

Memorial Calling hours are 4-6PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, followed by a Memorial Service at 6PM in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville.
