Marlborough – Geraldo Menezes Filho, 86, of Marlborough died Sunday December 8, 2024 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center. He was the husband of Gracia H. (De Brito) Menezes for the past 50 years.

He was born in Rio Paranaiba,  raised in Ibia Minas Gerais, and educated in Anapolis, Goias,  where he completed his degree in accounting. He was the son of the late Geraldo and Maria M. (Ferreira) Menezes. He owned and operated Savoia, a retail shoe store in Anapolis, Goias, Brazil for many years prior to moving to Massachusetts in 1999. Geraldo continued his hard work here in America working various jobs and creating a stable future for his family.

Geraldo was a man of many passions and a heart full of kindness. He found joy in a variety of hobbies, from fishing and flying ultra-light airplanes to enjoying CB and HAM radios. His love for remote-controlled airplanes fueled his adventurous spirit, while his favorite treat was always a simple scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Throughout his life, Geraldo was fortunate to travel the world, embracing diverse cultures and making lasting memories. Yet, it was his genuine warmth and devotion to those around him that truly set him apart. With his ever-present smile, he radiated charisma and positivity, making everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Geraldo’s energy, love, and friendliness were unmatched. He was deeply devoted to his family and gave his all to those he loved. His legacy will forever be remembered for his unwavering kindness and the joy he brought to every life he touched.

In addition to his wife Gracia, he leaves two sons Mauricio Menezes and his wife Wanusa and Marcelo Menezes and his wife Fabiana both of Marlborough; three daughters, Marianne Menezes Laguna and her husband Flavio of Leominster, Michelle Menezes Souza and her husband Carlos of Boylston and Magda Menezes Silva and her husband Helio Silva of Anapolis, Goias, Brazil; three sisters, Thelma Menezes Divino, Norma Menezes and Berenice Pfrimer all of Anapolis, Goias, Brazil; five granddaughters, six grandsons; seven great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Mucio Menezes who died 2012.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday December 11 from 6-9 PM in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday December 12  at 12:30 PM in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will be held in Brazil.
