Northborough – Carolyn Ann Caliri, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at home on December 15, 2024. She was 76 years old. Carrie, as she was lovingly known, was born December 16, 1947, one of six children to the late Roland and Eileen (Murphy) Cooper. She was raised in Worcester and a graduate of Worcester’s Commerce High School.
For several years Carrie worked at Worcester County National Bank. In 1971, she married the love of her life, Charles T. Caliri. Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Cincinnati, OH. In 1974, they returned to Massachusetts, first to Marlborough then, to their current home in Northborough. Carrie would devote the following years to caring for her growing family. She dedicated her time to her three sons’ many activities and antics, serving as their personal sports taxi driver and biggest fan. She enjoyed hosting family holidays and gatherings. Throughout her life, Carrie maintained stoic calmness, patient demeanor and loving kindness to everyone. Her happiness came from seeing others happy. Carrie looked forward to travelling with Charles. Together, they made memories on many cross-country excursions and adventures throughout Ireland, Aruba, and Hawaii, to name a few.
Among those surviving Carrie is her husband of 53 years, Charles; three sons, Charles Caliri of Townsend, Christopher Caliri and his wife Laurie of Sudbury and Anthony Caliri and his partner Jennifer Tuccinardi of Boylston; two grandchildren, Chloe and Frank Caliri; two sisters, Eileen Cofske of Worcester, Kathleen Martel and her husband Rene of Sturbridge; a brother, Roland Cooper and his wife Dianne of North Adams. Carrie was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Law and Jean Madden.
Calling hours will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday, December 19th at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, December 20th at Saint Bernadette Parish, 266 Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
