Northborough – Terryann J. (Carlin) McCassie, 62, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, after a period of declining health. Terry, as she was known by all, was born in Framingham and raised in Northborough. She was a 1981 graduate of Algonquin Regional High School.
Throughout her life, Terry would remain a resident of Northborough and the surrounding communities. She was employed as a housekeeper and personal caretaker for many years. In addition, she worked a short time for CVS, as a clerk.
Terry enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who in turn will miss her fiery wit and ways. Terry always made sure to put a smile on your face. She enjoyed going on vacation every summer and laying out in the sun.
She was a fanatic fan of WWE Wrestling and took every opportunity to catch a match on TV and was able to live out a lifelong dream of going to her first in-person show this year. Another dream of hers was to play with baby goats which she did at Bracken Hill Farm this past September. She loved watching scary movies on Sci-fi and being with her cat Reno as well as her granddog, Aries.
Surviving Terry are her two daughters, Sheena Sawyer and her husband Joshua of Sterling and Cheyenne McCassie and her friend Sarah Williams of Shrewsbury; her mother, Rose Marie Carlin of Northborough; three brothers, Mark Carlin and his partner Mary Butts of Acton, Timothy Carlin and his wife Penny of Boylston, Christopher Carlin and his wife Sharon of Millbury; numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. McCassie in 2011; an infant son, Kyle David Carlin in 1994 and her father, David Carlin.
The family would like to acknowledge the many people who helped care for Terry during her illness. The UMASS Memorial Cancer center Nurses and Staff in the infusion center. Dr Eric Ko in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Carolyn Murphy and her nurse Sara Lyons in Palliative care. Fellow Caroline Gordon and Michelle Hayes NP. Sheena Santaliz from Elder Services of Worcester. Dr Jia Luo and Stephanie Canty NP from Dana Farber. The Doctors, Nurses, and PCA’S at Brigham and Women’s. Their dedication and support during Terry’s lengthy stay was appreciated. Lastly, Tricia Kalagher Hospice RN Case Manager for your compassion and care in Terry’s final days.
Visiting hours have been set for 11:30am – 1:30pm on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A private interment in Howard St. Cemetery will occur at a later date.
