Marlborough – James “Jim” R. Joubert 82 of Marlborough passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Jim was born in Ft. Lewis, WA, the son of the late Girard and Norma (Krienke) Joubert. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1965 prior to an honorable discharge.

He graduated from Ferbdale High School Class of 1960 and worked several jobs including a Middlesex County Constable for over 15 years.

Jim was predeceased by his wife of 28 years Sharon L. (Senecal) Joubert in 2003 and his brother Jerry Joubert in 2019.

Jim is survived by 3 sisters Michelle Joubert of W.A., Yvonne Carson of W.A., Kathi Rauch of W.A., son Phil Clark of Conway, NH, 5 stepchildren, Donna Charbonneau of Marlborough, John Colacchio and his wife Rocio of N.M., Ernie Colacchio of Northboro, Alan Colacchio of RI, Kim Simpson of Marlborough, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

He enjoyed his time as a professional sports umpire and referee. When not on the road he could be found watching sports in his favorite lounge chair at home.

He took joy in the little things in life, especially reminiscing about family vaccinations or how he surprised his wife with a coveted piece for her Dicken’s Village Christmas collection.

Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, he spent much of his remaining time advocating and educating about the ailment. He established support groups in both Marlboro and Westboro for those suffering fun the condition. His absence will be noticeable within the community, as he will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 10:30 am in St. Bernadett’s Church, 266 Main St., Northborough, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, from 2-4 pm in the Short & Rowe Funeral Home, 95 W. Main St., Marlborough, MA
