Marlborough – Dolores “Dee” Mulvey, 96 of Marlboro, loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Dolores was born in Heilwood, PA, the youngest of five children, to the late Charles Xavier and Mary Bridgett (Misnkiewicz) Covalesky. She grew up in Ellsworth, PA, attended Ellsworth High School, and graduated from Duquesne University with a degree in nursing. Dolores married Robert J. Mulvey, on March 27, 1951, and settled in Marlboro, MA. Dolores had a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse. She spent the latter part of her career as a school nurse for the City of Marlboro. She was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Parish of Marlboro, MA.

Dolores enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, and recreational activities. Family camping trips, fishing outings, and beach excursions with packed picnic lunches were cherished traditions. Her unwavering support and presence at these moments reflected her deep love for her family.

In retirement, she found joy in traveling with her sisters and family creating beautiful memories. Dolores had a zest for life, evident in her Catholic pilgrimages, summer vacations in Maine, delightful lunch dates with friends, and passion for exploring yard sales and antiquing. She embraced life with a beautiful balance of seriousness and humor, bringing joy to those around her. Her singing of birthday messages was enjoyed by all.

Dolores was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Robert J. Mulvey. Dolores is survived by her eight children; Robert Mulvey and his wife, Karen of Marlboro, MA, Joseph Mulvey and his wife Christine of Marlboro, MA, Thomas Mulvey and his wife Joann of Millville, MA, William Mulvey and his wife, Carolien of Clinton, MA, Mary Mulvey of Milbridge, ME, Michael Mulvey of Onset, MA, Alice Mulvey of Marlboro, MA and Theresa Bonner and her  husband, John of Easton, ME; her grandchildren, Cory Mulvey (fiance Ted Ekholm), Sara Godin (Eric), Jennifer Mulvey, Katherine Mulvey, Joseph Mulvey, Christopher Mulvey (fiance Emily Cromwell), Emma Bonner, Delia Kalpakgian (Alexander), Paul Bonner and Augustus Bonner; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dolores was also predeceased by her siblings, Petronella Covalesky, Rosemary Lozier, Elizabeth Hecker, and Joseph Covalesky.

Visiting hours for Dolores will be held Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough, MA 01752. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 9 Prospect St., Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson St., Marlborough.
