WESTBOROUGH — A multi-vehicle accident on Route 9 westbound early on Tuesday, Jan. 15, sent two people to the hospital, according to Westborough Police.
Just after 8 a.m., fire personnel responded to a collision in front of Xtra Mart, at 186 Turnpike Road. Medic 4, Medic 2, Rescue 1 and Car 3 were among the units at the scene.
According to police reports, the collision was triggered by a vehicle stopping abruptly due to traffic. This caused a domino effect; in total, there were eight vehicles involved.
Two drivers were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Three vehicles were towed from the scene.
