Grafton – Velma “Val” Marie (Andrade) Donahue, 85, of Grafton, MA, formerly of Marlborough, MA died on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Health Care, University Campus in Worcester, MA after a brief Illness.

Val leaves her children Paul F. Donahue Jr. and his wife Caigui Guo Donahue of Barre, MA, Laura Everitt of Barre, MA, Scott Donahue and his wife Kelly of Whitinsville, MA, and Derek Donahue and his wife Nadine of Dudley, MA. She is also survived by her sisters Inez ”Enie” Clemmer of Northborough, MA, Gypsy McGrath of Berlin, MA, Jean Powell (Spouse Paul Powell) of Worcester, MA, and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Elaine (Andrade) Petkauskos, Arthur Andrade, Barbra (Andrade) Guerard and Joseph B. Andrade, Jr.

Val was born and raised in Marlborough, MA, son of the late Joseph B. Andrade, Sr. and Lena (Mello) Andrade. She was a 1957 graduate of Marlborough High School. She worked in Data Entry for the IRS and in various office manager roles until her retirement.

The simple things in life are what Val enjoyed the most. She loved to write, draw, paint, and watch her soap operas. She was most comfortable visiting and reminiscing with her siblings, children and grandchildren. The holidays, birthdays and graduations were especially enjoyable. Having traditional Portuguese foods and passing down family traditions throughout the years were so important to her along with sharing many memorable stories of growing up in a tight knit, loving and musical family. She cherished her grand and great grandchildren and all the joy they gave her. Her passion was truly her family.

Val will be truly missed but certainly not forgotten by those that loved and knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to St Michael Cemetery in Hudson, MA for Committal Services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Val may be made to: St. Michael’s Parish, Hudson MA.
