Marlborough – Anne Marie (MacDonald) Tucker, 83, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 23, 2025, after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of nearly 60 years together, separated only by Arthur’s own passing in April 2024.

There is something to be said about the true love between a couple. Emily Dickinson shared these words, “Unable are the loved to die. For love is immortality.” Arthur and Anne Marie Tucker’s lives reflected these words throughout their many years of marriage together. They are now together forever.

Anne Marie was born and raised in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter to Patrick B. and Anne L. (Gibbons) MacDonald. She worked several years as an elementary teacher in Canada prior to relocating to the United States. They settled in Marlborough, Massachusetts, remaining here for over 52 years in their current home.

Anne Marie dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family. Together with Arthur, Anne enjoyed dancing, seasonal camping and spending time with their beloved family. The couple were longtime active members of Marlborough Fish and Game Club. Anne Marie could be found alongside Arthur, assisting at the Club, preparing for a camping trip and being supportive in her own loving and caring ways. For several years, Anne Marie looked forward to league bowling at Maple Lanes and Arthur enjoyed following the New England sports teams’ seasons.

Surviving Anne Marie and Arthur are their two children, Roger D. Tucker of Marlborough, Heather A. Tucker and her companion Jim “Jamie” McDonald of Ossipee, New Hampshire, a grandson, Tyler Urato of Marlborough and a brother, Patrick MacDonald and his wife Anne of British Columbia, Canada.

A time to gather and celebrate the inseparable lives of Arthur and Anne Marie will be held at between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2024, at Marlborough Fish & Game Club, 1 Muddy Lane, Marlborough, MA 01752.

The Tucker family respectfully request memorial donations be directed to the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, National MS Society-Greater New England, PO Box 289, Canton, MA 02021 (https://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/MAM/Donate).

Arrangements are under the care of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.
