Northborough – Joan B. Krouse passed away peacefully in the late evening hours of Saturday, January 25, 2025. She was 89 years old.
Among those she is survived by are her three sons, Thomas Krouse of Northborough; Stuart Krouse and his wife Carolyn of Wells, Maine; Robert Krouse and his companion, Theresa Robert of Bellingham; six grandsons, Timothy Barrile, Nick Krouse, Ben Krouse, Michael Krouse, Jon Krouse, Kevin Krouse; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Joan was a devoted mother, beloved grandmother and faithful friend who will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know her. Joan also leaves her cat Molly who was her constant companion over the years. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank L. Krouse, Jr., and by her two sisters, Ruth Kennen and Lorraine Ocker.
Born and raised in Worcester, Joan was the youngest of three daughters to Francis and Cecelia (Drohan) Latendresse.
For many years Joan was employed within the Northborough Public School system. Seeing and interacting with the young children each day brought joy to Joan.
She enjoyed spending time at the Northborough Senior Center where she partook of many activities offered there. Joan, along with her great friend Carol Benedict, looked forward to doing chair yoga together at the center. Their friendship stretched across the years and involved many fun times with Carol’s family.
A private funeral will be held in Hays Funeral Home with burial following in Howard Street Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
