American Revolution 1624-1763
Discontent – Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Marlborough Public Library, 35 W. Main St. As part of Marlborough Revolution 250 come learn about the events that led to the American Revolution through books and documents collected by Marlborough residents.
Learn about the religion and culture of the first New England colonies and the early seeds of discontent, including the Dominion of New England and King Phillip’s War. There will be original books and documents on display that you might otherwise never be able to view. This three-part series, presented in partnership with the Marlborough Historical Society and the Marlborough Historical Commission, will break down the history of our country.
Small Stones Festival for the Arts
Jan. 25-Feb. 2, Brigham Hill Community Barn, 37 Wheeler Road, North Grafton. On Feb. 1, the exhibit will be open from noon to 6 p.m.; on Feb. 2, the exhibit will be open from noon to 4 p.m., with juror talks at 2 p.m. Come and see some of the best painting and photography in the area.

The Magic of Music Synthesizers
Saturday, Feb. 1, 2 to 3 p.m., Shrewsbury Public Library, 609 Main St. Hosted by local musician and audio engineer Torbin Harding, this program will include a talk and demonstration of music synthesizers, followed by a Q&A and dedicated hands-on time for attendees. Harding grew up in Shrewsbury. He attended Berklee College of Music, graduating with bachelor’s degree in music synthesis production. He has worked as a professional musician, audio engineer and music producer for more than 30 years. Registration required.

Benefit Concert
On Saturday, Feb. 1, local bands Bone City and Zen Music Men will headline a benefit for the New England Center and Home for Veterans in Boston. The event will take place at the Marlborough Moose Lodge, 67 Fitchburg St. Doors will open at 6 p.m. In addition to the music, there will be food (donated by local establishments) and raffles, including a 50/50. Tickets will be $15 pre-sale, $20 at the door. Desrosiers is seeking raffle items or food from friends and local business owners. Shir Joy Chorus
“Songs of Love & Light” will be performed on Sunday, Feb. 2, 7 p.m. at Congregation B’nai Shalom, 117 E. Main St., Westborough. Admission is $15 with tickets sold at the door. Shir Joy Chorus is a Central MA Jewish Community Chorus. The chorus is non-auditioned and open to everyone, regardless of ethnicity or religious background.
