Alzheimer’s fundraisers share why they trot

Shrewsbury – On Thursday, Nov. 23, at 8 a.m., runners and walkers will fill Shrewsbury’s Town Common to begin the seventh annual Turkey Trot for the Memory. Many have personal reasons compelling them to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association Mass./N.H. chapter.

Northborough Rotary honors Vickie Killeen

This award, according to a statement from the club, is given to someone who takes great pride in his or her chosen line of work with emphasis on doing a good job and having done so over an extended period of time. Grafton Inn to host fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis organization

Grafton – A "Tasting Nite" fundraiser to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis's (MS) Greater New England Chapter will be held at 25 on the Common, the Grafton Inn's restaurant, Saturday, May 31, from 7-9 p.m. The event will be hosted by the inn's owners John and Laurie Pardee and their son, Adam. It is inspired, John said, by his brother Michael, who has had MS for many years.

With new book, Westborough girl continues quest to promote disability awareness

Westborough – Like many girls her age, 13-year-old Melissa Shang, an eighth grade student at the Sarah W. Gibbons Middle School, has a busy life. Her days are filled with school work, creating stop-motion films, singing in her school choir, and enjoying time with her family and friends. She is also, she admits, “sassy” a lot of the time. But there is also another side to this young girl – she is a passionate advocate for those with disabilities.

RTN donates over $22,000 to Mass. Coalition for the Homeless

Region - RTN Federal Credit Union and RTN GoodWorks Foundation presented a check for $22,039 to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Sept. 18. The funds are proceeds raised from Walk Home 2017, which took place in June.
