‘Be a Santa for a Senior’ program kicks off in Northborough

Northborough - This season, many Northborough seniors who are alone or impoverished will receive some holiday cheer thanks to the “Be a Santa to a Senior® “ program. Sponsored by the Northborough Home Instead Senior Care® office, the program brings together businesses, volunteers and members of the community to provide gifts and companionship for lonely and isolated seniors.

“Silver surfers” take to technology

Northborough/Southborough - Under the direction of math teacher Eileen Palmer and guidance counselor Jason Lessard, Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) Community Action Program (CAP) students have spent the last month holding technology seminars for seniors at both the Southborough Senior Center and the Northborough Senior Center. The tech-savvy teens have made great strides in closing any technology generation gaps, showing seniors easy ways to mute their phones, text, change ring tones, take pictures or download a book on a Kindle.

Coat drive to benefit Marlborough Community Cupboard

Marlborough – Anchor Wealth Management is asking for donations of clean, gently used coats, hats, scarves and gloves to support their coat drive program. All donated outerwear will be given to the Marlborough Community Cupboard for distribution to local children and adults in need.
