Region - Bette O’Reilly, assistant vice president and branch manager of Commerce Bank in Westborough, was installed as the new chair of the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce at its Annual Meeting held on May 28. O’Reilly will be serving a 2-year term.

In the late 1970s, the Heberts moved their candy company, family-run since 1917, from Worcester to its current location at 47 Sugar Road, directly off exit 27 in Bolton. There they constructed the impressive building, with its traditional post and beam structural elements, to house the business.

Monthly luncheons are held to bring professional women together for networking and business education with prominent women speakers sharing their knowledge and experiences.

Northborough - Jeff Ward has been in the "video game" for a long time. As a former technician at La Bonne Vie Camera in Westborough, Ward continued to master the ins and outs of all kinds of film, cameras and video equipment. This passion for recording technology, and the quest for knowledge surrounding the inner workings of recording equipment, started when he was a teenager. Northborough – Students from the Cornerstone Academy recently were awarded medallions in the 2015 National Mythology Exam. The purpose of the exam is to inspire students to learn about classical mythology and literature.

Region - Home Instead Senior Care supplied Mother’s Day flowers and plants to the female residents of The Health Center at The Willows of Worcester and Mary Ann Morse Health Center in Natick. Every year, Home Instead honors a community they work with in both the Worcester County and the Metrowest areas by supplying beautifully wrapped flowering plants as a way of giving back to the communities they serve.

Northborough – Wegmans Food Markets has announced that the Wegmans Employee Scholarship Program will award college tuition assistance to 1,736 new recipients for the upcoming academic year.

Region - The Webster Five Foundation announced that, as part of its Web of Caring to Make a Difference program, it will donate $1,500 to the Community Harvest Project. The donation will support the growth and donation of an estimated 260,000 pounds of food to those in need.

Shrewsbury - Spag’s Antique Alley is still open for business at its 193 Boston Turnpike location (the former Spag’s building on Route 9). Owner Doug Thomson buys and sells antiques, home furnishings and oriental rugs. Deco to dynasty, rock and roll and space.
