“Our furniture refinishing business, Furniture Plus, has been around forever, and we’ve had requests to redo kitchen cabinets throughout the years,” said Gerry Brodeur, who owns the business with his wife, Robin. “In 2014, we decided to make concerted effort to develop the kitchen cabinet business, and last year we set it up as the Cabinet Rehab Shop.”

Marlborough Savings donates to More Than Wheels

Marlborough – The Marlborough Savings Charitable Foundation awarded More Than Wheels, Inc., a $5,000 grant to support their financial education and credit repair program. More Than Wheels provides behavioral counseling and credit repair guidance, conducts financial literacy classes, provides car selection expertise, and partially guarantees car loans at reasonable rates with financial institution partners for consumers who would not otherwise qualify for them.

Attorney General says utilities merger will save consumers money

Region - The approval of a proposed merger between NSTAR and Northeast Utilities will result in significant savings to customers across the state, according to state Attorney General (AG) Martha Coakley. Her office announced Feb. 15 that the two utility companies have reached separate merger-related agreements with both the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and AG's office. According to the AG's office, the merger will save utility customers $217 million.
