Stormy weather on the way for Wednesday

Region - The storm is going more to the north and accordingly most of its snow will occur to our north as well. It now appears that rain will begin during the late morning hours tomorrow in most areas and even in those areas where precipitation does begin as snow it will quickly change to rain. Rain will become heavy during the late afternoon and continue through Wednesday night, with urban and street flooding likely in the usual areas. Rain will change to a wintry mix in the very early morning hours Thursday. Precipitation should become all snow for a while Thursday morning with only small accumulations in the 1 to 3 inch range likely throughout our entire area. Very cold air will flood in and there is a chance of a very rapid freeze of snow/slush and rain water on paved surfaces around dawn Thursday. Winds will become southeasterly and increase to 15 to 25 mph in inland areas but will be 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph along the coast, shifting to the northwest in all areas Thursday and remaining quite strong. Thursday night will remain breezy and temperatures will sink to the single numbers, possibly approaching record low levels once again. Some moderation is likely Friday and into the weekend.
