NEF announces third annual Applefest Gala

Northborough - The Northborough Education Foundation (NEF) will hold the third annual Applefest Gala, “Cocktails and Dancing Under the Stars,” at Juniper Hills Golf Course Pavilion Friday, Sept. 15, from 7:30 pm – 11:30 p.m. The gala is part of Northborough’s annual Applefest weekend which is scheduled for Sept. 14-17.

Over 300 participate in Mary Beth Benison Foundation 5K Road Race

Region - The weather held out on Oct. 15 for over 300 runners participating in the 2nd Mary Beth Benison (MBB) Foundation 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run. The foundation uses the MBBF 5k as a way to honor the late Mary Beth Benison, a Northborough resident who passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2015 and another individual from Central Massachusetts who is living with ALS or who has passed away from ALS. This year’s race was in memory of Maryellen Standring who lived in Holden and passed away from ALS in 2014.
