Grafton firefighter and farmer saves lives through service

Grafton - Whether it was fighting fires or cultivating crops, Kenneth Dion of North Grafton often was found at the scene, helping people in need. Dion retired in March after nearly 29 years of dedicated service with the Worcester Fire Department. But he will be continuing with his full-time job as operations director at the Grafton-based Community Harvest Project, a nonprofit organization that brings volunteers together to grow and distribute fresh fruits and vegetables for hunger relief.

Horrified, she woke up and thought that her dream sounded like a good story for a book. That was in 2004. Since then, she has published 10 books for teens and young adults, including “Bachelorette #1,” the novel based on her dream, and is currently writing two more.

Grafton pastor co-authors book on church growth

Grafton - Reverend Jane Willan grew up in Burlington, Iowa, where she attended a Disciples of Christ Church. It was at a church camp when, at the age of 12, Willan knew without a doubt that she was called to go into the ministry when she “grew up.” In the years that followed, she never wavered in her desire, ultimately leading her to the Congregational Church in Grafton.
