Super Park to be reborn in Grafton

Grafton - One of the losses to Grafton upon the construction of the new high school was an area near Town Hall that had been dubbed “Super Park”. In its original configuration, Super Park was a rather undistinguished area of set tunnels, ladders, slides, and other obstacles arranged near several benches and tables at which adults could sit and supervise children at play. Since then, a new Super Park Committee has been created to oversee the construction of a newer, more ambitious park.

Little kids enjoy big trucks in Grafton

Grafton – Families spent a warm June 18 morning attending Grafton Recreation Department’s annual Big Truck Day. Various vehicles were parked behind the Grafton Municipal Building. Kids got the chance to sit behind the wheel of town vehicles from the fire, police and highway departments. They also honked the horns of local businesses’ tractor, concrete mixer and Mack trucks. A highlight for many was climbing into an Army National Guard Jeep.

Grafton rocks out on a summer night

Grafton - On the evening of July 22, Grafton’s Concerts on the Commons featured the band “Throw Back to the 60s,” an enthusiastic group of ‘60s-era musicians playing favorites from that time period. A typically large crowd gathered, covering the Commons with blankets, bridge chairs and tables, thermos jugs, sandwiches, candy, and other treats. Many stood and rocked along with the music, to the delight of adults and children alike. Kids ran to and fro, laughing and having a great time.
