Applaud for their cause and win $5,000

Hudson – The Hudson High School (HHS) Auditorium is frequently used by a number of organizations including the River's Edge Arts Alliance (REAA) and the HHS Drama Society. These organizations appreciate the importance of creating illusions to achieve a willing suspension of disbelief from their audience. They also understand that money is needed to enhance a performance venue. Cue the spotlight on a first-time fundraiser: "Applause for Our Cause: The Big 50/50 Raffle." Five hundred raffle tickets are available for $20 each. One winner will receive $5,000. The rest will go toward technical improvements and repairs in the HHS Auditorium.

Mayor Arthur Vigeant requested an emergency connection to the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) water supply system at the July 8 council meeting. In his communication to the council, the mayor said: "As a neighboring community who is best positioned to assist the town of Hudson during this time, I authorized drafting of an inter-municipal agreement that would allow us to supply Hudson up to an average of 500,000 gallons per day for distribution. The MWRA has asked that this IMA be executed no later than July 15, 2013, as their board of directors made their approval contingent on both Marlborough and Hudson entering into the agreement."
