Marlborough High cheerleaders on the road to national title

Marlborough - The Marlborough High School (MHS) Varsity Cheerleading Team had had an amazing fall season. Now, they are training hard for the upcoming Cheerleaders of America (COA) Ultimate International Championship in Orlando, Fla., April 3-4, with the hopes of bringing home the title. Seventeen girls will be competing at the event, which features teams from 15 states and 10 countries. The team is currently fundraising to help defer the costs, which include airfare, hotel and transportation.

Council concerned with traffic at proposed new Dunkin Donuts

Marlborough- A proposal to build a new Dunkin’ Donuts at the site for the former Registry of Motor Vehicles was met with concern by members of the City Council during a public hearing held during the council’s Feb. 23 meeting. NGP Management Corporation of North Reading is applying for a special permit to relocate the current Dunkin Donuts at 312 Maple St. (Route 85) and build a new shop at 525 Maple St.

Marlborough- Mayor Arthur Vigeant has asked the City Council to approve the appointment of David Manzello as principal assessor, replacing Bradford Dunn, and Paul Sliney as the tenant’s representative on the Community Development Authority (CDA) for a three-year term. Councilors voted at the Feb. 23 meeting to refer the recommendations to the Personnel Committee.

Council approves $100,000 for snow and ice removal

These include the reappointment of Mark Gibbs as information technology department head and the reappointment of Cynthia Panagore-Griffin as assistant city solicitor for a term to expire three years from the date of approval.
