Westborough - On any given day, there are hundreds of people at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts Boroughs Family Branch in Westborough enjoying the various programs. But it is a pretty safe bet that no one is enjoying themself more than Maria Kocia. And thanks to her enthusiasm and dedication as a volunteer for the organization, she was recently named as the recipient of the Diversity and Inclusion Award at the 147th Annual YMCA of Central Massachusetts Recognition Event held in Worcester Nov. 3.

Marlborough/Shrewsbury - It was a day filled with loud music, louder cheers, acrobatic flips, scintillating stunts, dozens of teams, hundreds of cheerleaders, dancers and spectators, and more than eight hours of competition and routines at Marlborough, Shrewsbury head to Cheerleading Nationals (SHS) Nov. 20. In the end, the cheerleading teams from Marlborough High School (MHS) and SHS both received bids to Nationals. MHS and SHS finished 7th and 8th out of more than 15 teams in a competitive Division 1 field. MHS cheerleading coach Adrienne DeGeorge spoke about her team's performance despite the loss of a key performer earlier this fall.
