TJX agrees to purchase two Fidelity buildings in Marlborough

Marlborough - Last year local officials were stunned by the news that that Fidelity Investments was planning on vacating their Marlborough campus by the end of 2012 and relocating 1,100 employees to Rhode Island or New Hampshire. Now, with the announcement that the TJX Companies, Inc., (TJX) has decided to purchase two of the soon to be vacant Fidelity buildings, officials are hopeful that the city will once again be moving forward.

Marlborough remembers veterans with parade and ceremony

Marlborough - A beautiful sunny and crisp day set the scene for the annual Veterans Day Parade in Marlborough. Main Street was filled with eager attendees. Participating in the parade were members of the Marlborough High School and Middle School Marching Band, Bob Page, parade coordinator for the Marlborough Veterans Council, city officials including Mayor Arthur Vigeant, guest speaker Brigadier General Paul G. Smith, School Committee members, veterans, Scout troops, and the Honor Guard.

Rededication of Marlborough courtyard to honor Ernest Holt

Marlborough - There will be music, refreshments and a special rededication ceremony Tuesday, July 22, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the courtyard behind Liberty Hill Apartments, 240 Main St., as residents, families and friends, city and state officials celebrate the completion of the project by S.I. Services, Inc. Total cost of construction on the site, along with benches, and a gazebo, is about $185,000, according to Marlborough Housing Director Douglas Bushman.
