Public Service Internship Program to continue in Marlborough

Marlborough - Mayor Arthur Vigeant has asked the City Council to continue the formal Public Service Internship Program for deserving college students and high school graduates. The program was inaugurated last year. In his communication to the council at its Feb. 24 meeting, Vigeant said he welcomed any feedback or questions relative to the program. He also included statements of overwhelming support from participating department heads and their staffs.

Property development sites proposed by mayor

Marlborough-Mayor Arthur Vigeant would like to expand the number of properties designated for economic development under the provisions of Chapter 43D, a little-known state law that provides grants and incentives for these properties. At the Aug. 24 City Council meeting he asked Councilors to approve the designation of four parcels of land to the list of applicable properties – 15, 17, and 25 East Main St. and 15 Sawin St. The proposal was referred to the Urban Affairs Committee for study.
